UCG appoints Nick Bell as new Chief Executive.

The United Colleges Group is pleased to announce the appointment of Nick Bell, formerly Chief Executive of Prospects as its new Chief Executive. Nick will be joining the Group in August 2019 following the retirement of Keith Cowell, the current CEO. 

Before joining Prospects, Nick was CEO of Staffordshire County Council and before that, served in a variety of senior local government roles including as deputy CEO of Essex Country Council. After securing the successful sale of Prospects to the Shaw Trust, he remained as interim CEO of the Trust until a successor could be found. 

The United Colleges Group was formed from the merger of the College of North West London and the City of Westminster College.

Keith Cowell, CEO of United Colleges said “After ten years in leadership at City of Westminster College and then the United Colleges Group, it is time for me to step down, enjoy retirement and hand over to Nick Bell who will lead the United Colleges Group onto its next achievements.  I am reassured that Nick has a wealth of experience and am confident Nick will build on the legacy I leave behind. “

Nick Bell, said “I am delighted to be appointed to the role of CEO at the United Colleges Group. I believe the organisation is at an exciting stage of development and I relish the challenge of bringing my experience to the Group to shape the next stage of it’s journey.”
