If you have a passion for teaching or think that you’d make a great teacher, then these courses could be just what you are looking for. Learn from highly experienced and knowledgeable teachers.
There are two intakes a year for our Level 3 Award in Education and Training (September and February). The course is 16 weeks in length and taught on one evening per week. It is perfect for people wishing to gain a ‘licence to practice’ qualification in Teaching. You don’t need to be teaching or have a teaching placement to take this course.
Our new Level 5 Diploma in Teaching FE in Skills course also has two entry points in the year and is run part-time across two years and on one evening per week. The course is for teachers who are currently delivering at least 75 hours per year in a further education setting.
Candidates must be working in a college or an adult learning/ skills provider with a minimum of 250 placement hours. If you are not currently working in the sector but want to train to teach, you will need a subject specialism and to secure a placement yourself ahead of enrolling on the programme.
The vast majority of our Level 5 Diploma graduates go on to have successful careers in education and training and achieve Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills Status (the sector equivalent to QTS) after successful completion of their course.
Fees are payable for both courses. Please visit our website for up-to-date information about fees.
