The hardworking and dedicated staff at College of North West London and City of Westminster College have been recognised at the United College Group’s annual Staff Awards.
With many aspects of life still feeling the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the achievement and successes of those who keep college life going and help students to gain their qualifications are even more relevant than ever.
A total of 16 winners across six categories were chosen from over 100 nominations, no easy task for the selection panel.
The awards ceremony was also an opportunity to recognise long-serving staff, with many colleagues celebrating 20, 25, and some even 30 years of service to their respective colleges.
The categories recognised by the awards were:
- Outstanding Contribution to Teaching and Learning by an Individual or Team
- Outstanding Service Delivery by an Individual or Team
- Outstanding Support for Students by an Individual or Team
- Delivery of Excellent Customer Service by an Individual or Team
- Best Teacher Award
- Best Support Staff Award
- CEO and Group Principal Award
Of particular note was Lilian Kalejaiye, who won Outstanding Support for Students by an Individual, as well as being awarded the CEO and Group Principal Award.
Lilian goes beyond for the students she supports, she is hardworking, calm understanding and resilient. This is recognised by the number of repeat visit she has from students to see her especially.
Staff celebrated the evening and enjoyed taking the opportunity to reflect on the previous year and hear from Group Principal and CEO, Stephen Davis. The entire United Colleges Group sends its congratulations to all the winners of these important awards and to each and every staff member who received a nomination.
