Students from City of Westminster College (CWC) had the pleasure of attending a Civil Service Event in Parliament Street, London.
Fourteen learners represented CWC in a shared educational day with the civil service, looking at all aspects of social mobility.
On the day, the students had the chance to learn more about the Civil Service, which employs more than 450,000 people across the UK in 27 different professions, including Policy, Finance, HR, Law, Communications, Project Management and Social Research.
The event also explored employability routes into the Civil Service, such as apprenticeship routes, and there were discussions of how to develop the wide-ranging skills needed to excel in the modern workplace.
The event was interactive and included opportunities to hear from keynote speaker Matthew Wright, a senior civil servant.
All students participated in a networking session with current civil servants from across government and had the opportunity to undertake a Policy Challenge while working as a team.
