United Colleges Group (UCG) students had the chance to show off their teamwork skills during a recent residential stay at Grosvenor Hall, Kennington, Ashford.
The National Citizen Service (NCS) — a voluntary personal and social development program for 16 to 17-year-olds, invited UCG learners to the retreat in Kent, where they took part in a range of activities under the tutelage of Georgie Davis from Charlton Athletic Football Club and other instructors.
Students were split into two groups, with one heading off for team building activities and the second participating in a group motivation session.
The fearless learners supported each other every step of the way as they each climbed the frightening Jacob’s Ladder, with one student saying: “There’s no way I thought I’d be able to climb up there — but everyone was fully behind me and I managed to do it!”
Stuart Prior, Work Experience Coordinator at City of Westminster College, said: “What an amazing venue in the heart of Kent; the vibe between the students and their instructors was incredible.
“The facilities are amazing and the students were really enthused throughout the residential week with NCS.”
