City of Westminster College students enjoyed a day out at London South Bank University (LSBU) during this year’s National Apprenticeship week.
In partnership with LSBU, Berkeley St Edward invited T Level in Design, Surveying and Planning for Construction (Civil Engineering) students and Level 2 in Construction Learners to find out about apprenticeships in the construction industry.
The students got to hear from a variety of industry specialists about their career journeys, including Walsh structural engineers, TP Bennet Architects and communities builder Berkeley St Edward.
Perhaps the most relatable for the learners was the question and answer session with current apprentices, who took time away from their university study day to meet the students and tell them about their experiences.
In the afternoon the students took part in a treasure hunt which seemed to be a game but was in fact a very sophisticated examination of the public realm that surrounds LSBU.
“Overall a very useful day and the huge variety of apprenticeships available in the construction industry is starting to become clearer to our students.” Louise Reynolds, T Level Development Lead, City of Westminster College
