Travel and Tourism students from City of Westminster College took an educational trip to London’s iconic visitor attraction this month, with a behind-the-scenes look at visitor experience and operations.
The day started with a tour of the Palace’s State Rooms, where students explored the history of the royal residence using multimedia guides designed for visitors from around the world.
Following the tour, students gathered in the Buckingham Palace Ballroom for a series of professional insight talks delivered by the Royal Collection Trust (RCT). Representatives from the Marketing, Visitor Services, and Learning teams discussed how Buckingham Palace operates as a major tourist destination. This included topics such as how Buckingham Palace fits into the wider UK tourism picture, the customer offering, and how RCT shapes the visitor experience.
The visit allowed students to connect their classroom learning with real-world case studies, an experience that will inspire their future careers.
