The course includes the following units split between the two years. An option to specialise in Electrical/Electronic or Mechanical Engineering is available in the second year.
The high quantity and level of mathematics in this course requires applicants to achieve at least a grade 5 in GCSE Mathematics as an entry requirement.
The course gives learners specialist knowledge and technical skills, enabling entry to an apprenticeship or other employment, or progression to related higher education (university) courses.
You will have approximately 800 hours of direct tuition over the two years. As a guide you will need to spend another 700 hours in independent study and completing assignments/projects to achieve the level of attainment necessary for the award of the qualification.
Most assessment evidence is submitted by written coursework and reports. However, three units listed are assessed externally including one examination.
