To increase the knowledge and understanding of roles and issues relating to Cyber Security. It will also act as a stepping stone for learners who wish to study cyber security at a higher level.

Course units

  1. Introduction to cyber security
  2. Understand terminology used in cyber security
  3. Understand legal and ethical aspects of cyber security
  4. Understand common threats to cyber security
  5. Understand methods of maintaining cyber security
  6. Working with others in cyber security

These programmes are free for individuals who are unemployed and claiming a benefit (i.e. JSA, ESA, IS). Individuals in receipt of JSA need to contact their work coach to be referred onto this course.

What qualifications or skills do I need to show I have before I can enrol?

Level 1 or above for IT, speaking, reading and writing.
