CWC last week invited 38 different organisations to its Careers Fair at Paddington Green. From businesses such as Barclays and Earnest Young to Public Services such as the Police Force, Fire Brigade, Army, Navy and Royal Air Force, students were invited to ask questions and have conversations with the employers regarding their future prospects and current job opportunities.
“We had a number of different businesses and organisations visit the College for our Careers Fair including Holts Academy, who offer jewellery courses which is different to what we’ve had at previous events,” said Louise Rochford, CWC’s Careers Advisor. “We had a recruitment agency called The Big Choice who were signing people up in order to help them look for work now that a lot of our students are about to leave CWC."
"We had some really good feedback from the employers; a lot of them have been here before and they said that the questions and conversations that they were having with the students were thoughtful and in-depth, as those who attended are seriously considering what to do now that they’re moving on from College and are interested in seeing what other opportunities are out there," added Louise. "Every single employer who attended said they’re looking forward to coming back to our future Careers Fairs and that they’d be happy to come back to the College to talk to the students in smaller groups. I would like to say a huge thank you to all of the companies who attended the event and to Tesco for kindly supplying us with bottles of water for the exhibitors.”
