City of Westminster College was recently visited by film makers who were making a short film for the German ‘Schulbau Messe’, a major fair for educational buildings in Germany.
The creators of the documentary, Schmidt Hammer Lassen, are also the architects of the College’s Paddington Green Campus and members of the Architecture Project (TAP), a regional/state funded initiative in Denmark which promotes educational architecture abroad. The film focuses on a number of innovative school and college buildings from various European countries, with CWC being the only one featured from the UK.
The film makers were keen to emphasise how the architecture of the building has improved and supported the educational environment. A science lesson filmed at the College was featured as part of the short film and students Jillian Allen, Leah Williams and Tanvir Patel enthusiastically spoke about how the design of the building has had a positive impact on their experience studying and socialising here.
“I would like to thank the staff and students who facilitated or took part in the interviews and filming," said CWC's Deputy Principal David Pigden. "It was a welcome opportunity to showcase the Paddington Green Campus in Europe, emphasising the impressive educational experience we provide at CWC.”
