Huge congratulations to Faisa Nur, a former student at City of Westminster College, who has been named Westminster Council's 'Young Person of the Year'.
Faisa Nur joined Supported Learning at the college’s Maida Vale campus in Sept 2015 and completed courses in Learning for Work and Skills for Work. Additionally, she held supported internships with Planet Organic, the National Portrait Gallery and at Westminster City Council, working in their facilities team.
Following on from a successful internship, Faisa secured a paid inclusive apprenticeship with the Westminster Council Facilities team. Upon completing her apprenticeship in Customer Service at Level 2, Faisa was offered a permanent role at the council.
In her current role as Team Administrator her time is split between Westminster City Hall and Westminster Employment at Lisson Grove.
And last month she was named Westminster Council's 'Young person of the year'.
Nicola McLean, Assistant Principal | Curriculum Delivery and Enhancement-SEND, United Colleges Group said: “It is fantastic to see that the vital employability skills and maintaining successful employment within the Internship have paid off for Faisa. It makes us very proud as the educational provider to know that Faisa has progressed and been recognised as Young Person of the Year, and longevity of the skills learnt have enabled Faisa to showcase her talent and abilities within the working world.”
A huge congratulations to Faisa on this well-deserved recognition
