The course covers the following units:
Level 4 is equivalent to the first year of a university degree and at this level of study, there is a strong focus on communication skills. This reflects the fact that the role of the accountant is changing.
Accounting software packages such as Sage, QuickBooks and Xero are increasingly sophisticated and can carry out many of the tasks traditionally completed by bookkeepers and accountants. Accountants, therefore, need to interpret information and advise managers and clients, rather than simply making adjustments at year-end or carrying out calculations.
ACCA, ACA, CIMA or CIOT.
Your tutors will use a range of practical, interactive teaching methods and resources. You will also be expected to participate actively in lessons and complete independent study.
Five computer-based online examinations assessments, one for each unit.
You will be expected to purchase a set of discounted textbooks as recommended by your tutor and to become a student member of the AAT

AAT Level 4 Professional Diploma for Accounting
You will be required to spend an average of 8 hours a week on independent study activities set by your tutor who will then give you feedback.

To cover tuition fees, loans are available from the government. You may also get support towards your living costs. The amount you can borrow depends on where you live and your household income. There is also extra support for those with special circumstances, for example, if you have children or adult dependants, a disability, long-term health condition, mental-health condition, or specific learning difficulty such as dyslexia or dyspraxia. Please be aware that unless expressly stated, the cost of your course is for a single year only.
