Details

The Higher Development Award (HDA) is a programme for NHS staff to allow you to move forward in your career and build your skills in leadership. The course will help develop overall leadership and management skills, confidence, self-belief, and motivation. This will have a direct impact on the service, patient or service users experience and outcomes.

The aim of the course is to improve overall confidence, improve job satisfaction and expand your job prospects in the NHS. You will achieve a recognised qualification enabling you to continue learning and make it possible for you to transition into higher-level caring roles.

The course is flexible, allowing you to integrate study days at college with your job. Some additional learning hours will be required, but most of the study will take place in your standard working hours. You will have access to an online workbook helping you learn at your own pace, log in at college to work through as a group or to access at home. You will complete the qualification once your workbook is submitted and marked by college tutors.

The Higher Development Award will be available from Stages 1 up to 3.
