Do you want to be a Civil Engineer, Construction Project Manager or Architect? If you have not yet achieved the grades needed for our T-Level then this one year course will help you progress to a full-time course at Level 3 or find a Level 3 Apprenticeship if you impress any of the employers we engage with during the year.

The Pearson BTEC Level 1/Level 2 First Extended Certificate has mandatory and optional specialist units including

  • Construction Technology
  • Design
  • Science and Mathematics
  • Sustainability
  • Drawing
  • Tendering and Estimating
  • Surveying and Civil Engineering.

The Pearson BTEC Level 1/Level 2 First Extended Certificate is graded from Level 2 PP to Level 2 D*D*. Learners who do not achieve at Level 2 may achieve a grade of Level 1 Pass. Learners whose level of achievement is below Level 1 will receive an Unclassified (U) result.

Is there additional work required by the student?

There are two exams to cover basic construction technology and sustainability. All the other units are assessed using internally marked assignments.

Entry Requirements

You will have at least a Grade 3 in both English Language and mathematics but you must have a Grade 4 or above in one of them. You will also need at least three other GCSE passes at Grade 3 or above.
 

Support

Financial Support for 16-18 Year-olds and Continuing Learners aged 19

The Education Funding Authority has allocated money to colleges to support students who are on low incomes or the dependent of parents on a low income, and need support towards their course-related costs or essential living costs or are facing financial difficulty.
