Details

This online course will run on Saturday 11th July, 2-5pm.

This 3 hour online course will give you the confidence to speak more effectively to colleagues and friends online.

Prior to the session you will be required to prepare a 2 minute piece to present. This can be either a poem, a piece of text or a presentation relevant to your requirements.

The 3 hour session will start by:

Covering how to use online video platforms more effectively (eg Zoom). We will cover set dressing, camera angle, lighting, volume and basic presentation skills.

The second half of the session will focus on speaking in public and will include, amongst other things, how to cope with nerves, voice projection, body language and eye contact.

You will be given the opportunity to perform your piece and receive feedback from both the tutor and each other. It will be taught in a supportive and student centred way.
All levels welcome.

Students will require access to good internet connection, preferably broadband and will need a hands-free device (ideally a desktop/ laptop or tablet.).
